I know that Nils Gaup, who did the screenplay/directing for the original Pathfinder movie (aka Ofelas aka Veiviseren) from 1987 cowrote the new Pathfinder movie and that there are some scenes in the new one inspired by the original, but that it's not a direct remake of the original.
